On Tuesday the 2nd of December 2014, A-Level PE students were taken to Loughborough University for an educational visit. The students, on arrival at Loughborough, were given a guided tour of the world class facilities before the practical sessions relating to their A Level Physiology unit of work began. The day was pitched at their curriculum needs, with an experiential, practical set of workshops where the pupils engaged in physical tests similar to that of elite performers such as the VO2 Max test. Students experienced how to conduct professional sports science tests and looked at how to interpret their data to improve performance. This was an exciting, inspirational day that enriched their physiology studies and inspired students to think about their university choices.
